Formulated to create cracks similar to crazing, resulting in a unique aged, antique look.

Create bright multicolor bursts and specks, unique in every firing.

- Crackles Glazes!
- Use them to add character to your pieces;
Glazes are available in low-fire and high-fire applications.
- For extra depth, highlight the cracks created in the firing by
antiquing the piece with ink or acrylic paint.

- Color crystals move throughout the glaze during firing,
creating a distinctively interesting appearance.
- These unique glazes create bright, multicolored bursts and specks when fired,
resulting in a different finish every time.

How to use Crystals & Crackles Glazes
- Crackles Glazes!
- Always damp - sponge ware lightly before applying glaze.
- Apply 2 coats of Crackles Glaze to cone 04 bisque and dryfoot (omit glaze from bottom of piece).
- For Low Fire, fire to shelf cone 06.
- Crackle pattern will appear as the kiln cools and continue long after the piece has been fired n removed from the kiln.
- To enhance the crackle pattern, put India ink or acrylic paint onto ware and wipe back with a soft cloth.
- CR 823 Celadon Crackle is not overglaze compatible.
- For High Fire, because high fire clays vary, we recommend firing a test piece.
- Let dry between coats.
- Water cleanup
- Crystals Glazes!
- Always damp - sponge ware lightly before applying glaze.
- Stir glaze without disturbing crystals.
- Apply 2 coats to shelf cone 04 bisque. and dryfoot (omit glaze from bottom of piece).
- Mix in Crystals for 3rd coat.
- Apply crystals sparsely near bottom of the piece to keep crystals from flowing onto kiln shelf.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
- Let dry between coats.
- For High Fire, because high fire clays vary, we recommend firing a test piece.
- Water cleanup
Notes::
- Crystals Glazes!
- Each result depends on the size of the crystal, slope of the piece and temperature of the fire.
Like the excitement of fireworks festivities, you wll love the pops of color from Crystals Glazes!
- To create custom looks, apply Crystals in combination with other glazes and other colors.
- Crystals work well to high fire cone 5-6. For high fire application,
we recommend firing a test piece because high fire clays vary.
- With different applications of color layering,
and different applications techniques, you'll get unique artistic pieces every time.
Always refer to label instructions for proper application and usage.

Thermal Shock
refers to extreme temperature change,
usually caused by removing fired pieces too soon from the kiln.
