Duncan features two opaque textured glazes -- Sandstar Glazes and Simply Suedes. With few exceptions, they share the same application and performance characteristic. Since both are porous, they may be applied to greenware as well as to bisque.
Simply Suedes have the look and feel of coarse sand. Each may be combined with other colors from their own product family to create custom colors. Spot glazes may be applied over them for contrasting textures.
They may be accented or tinted with EZ Strokes underglazes. In addition, French Dimension glazes can be applied over them to create raised accents. Raised effects can also be made using 3 to 4 coats of Sandstars or Simply Suedes in a design, or by applying them over previously fired Cover-Coats underglazes. Both Sandstar and Simply Suedes are popular for use over sqrqffito design in greenware. Simply Suedes work well with the sponging technique.

Apply 3 flowing crisscross coats
Apply to greenware or bisque
Fire to: greenware = shelf cone 04.. or bisque = shelf cone 06
Water cleanup
Not overglaze compatible
