Just for you.... Tupperware TIPS

Tips 1 - Should anything spoil in your Tupperware,
be sure to give the container a "vinegar bath"
to kill any/all the barteria or future foods will spoil quicker.
Simply use 1 part vinegar + 1 part water and shake or turn so that all sides/parts
of the container are cleaned over a period of 10-12 hours and then let air dry.

**************************************************
Tips 2 - Strong food odors
can be removed by sealing wadded up newspaper
in the Tupperware container for 24 hours.

TUPPERWARE REFRIGERATOR STORAGE HINTS
........................
EGGS: Eggs are very porous, therefore will absorb odors from the fridge.
--Keep eggs in a sealed, airtight container (1 doz. in Mini-Rectangle 2, 2 doz. in Rectangle 2).
--Store eggs point down and yolk will always be in the center when cracked open.
...................................
FRESH PRODUCE: Always store fruits and vegetables in Tupperware Refrigerator System containers,
e.g. FridgeSmart Containers. $80.00 worth of Tupperware can save you upwards of $600.00 per year on produce.
--No flavor transfer in Tupperware!
--Your Tupperware Refrigerator Containers should have a permanent parking place in your fridge.
--Everything goes into your Tupperware Containers NAKED (no wraps or bags)!
--Never wipe accumulated moisture from the container seals (except mushrooms & strawberries).
--Use a plastic knife to cut lettuce (avoid rusting), & the Tupperware Peeler Plus to peel apples
& potatoes (won’t turn them black)
--Always wash your produce in lukewarm, not cold, water.
This allows the produce to properly re-hydrate. Add 1/4 cup vinegar to water to loosen pesticides & pests!
--Do not store apples & carrots together. The acid in the apples causes the carrots to go bitter.
--Cucumbers should be stored separately in FridgeSmart
--Celery should be stored 'hump up' so water from the seal runs right off.
--Cauliflower can last up to six weeks stored in the Large Round FridgeSmart.
--Grapes should be taken off stems, rinse in water with 2 tsp. vinegar, then store in FridgeSmart.
--Never wash mushrooms or strawberries until just before use.
Putting paper towel on top of mushroom or strawberries will absorb the moisture from the seal.
Change paper towel and wipe the seal regularly, will last two weeks or longer.
--Always store cut veggies CUT SIDE DOWN.
--Green & red peppers will last much longer once cut if you remove the seeds.
--Store tomatoes STEM SIDE DOWN! Skin is thicker around the stem.
...................
LUNCHMEAT & CHEESE: Contact with your hands can shorten the life of your deli products substantially.
Biggest Rule—ALWAYS TO WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE HANDLING YOUR MEAT OR CHEESE!!
--Lunchmeat & cheese go into Tupperware naked, no wraps of any kind.
--Swish a small amount of vinegar around in FridgeSmart to create acidic environment.
--Put a sugar cube in corner to absorb excess moisture. Wipe seal regularly.
--No flavor transfer in Tupperware.
.....................
BEVERAGES: Must be kept airtight in Tupperware!!
--Fruit juice will lose all its Vitamin C in just an hour if left open.
--Milk won't 'taste funny' when stored in Refrigerator Pitchers.
